Private Shared Care Agreements for our ADHD Patients
The Borchardt Medical Centre is pleased to announce that we now accept private shared care agreements for all our patients with confirmed ADHD. This arrangement allows patients to receive specialist care from private clinics while maintaining primary care support through our practice.
We have noticed that with respect to quality there is some variability in the private sector. Generally, we would recommend a provider on the Right To Choose framework. To ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety, we have established the following requirements for all our shared care arrangements:
- The private clinic must be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), ensuring they meet essential standards of quality and safety.
- A qualified medical doctor must be either directly involved in patient care or serving as the medical director of the clinic, providing appropriate medical oversight.
- Our practice reserves the right to amend shared care agreements when necessary for patient safety reasons. This allows us to make adjustments based on individual patient needs and clinical considerations.
- If private sector oversight stops happening the shared care agreement will be removed and ADHD prescribing will likely be stopped.
These requirements help us maintain high-quality care while offering greater flexibility for our ADHD patients.
